The most popular resort is the town of Zermatt which is located at the base of Matterhorn which is hidden behind 20 different mountain peaks. This is a unique country with an old village which has their own Swiss style chalets. The only way to get into Zermatt is via spectacular cog railway in the valley below.

The premier ski and social resort of eastern Switzerland is St Moritz. The nightlife is renowned for being one of the most energetic and expensive of all the alpine ski resorts.
